Squeeze pages or reseller pages are simple, effective and short web pages that have just one objective – to build your opt-in list and, optionally redirect the visitor to one of your own sales page or an affiliate page. Squeeze pages, if done properly, is a great way to capture your visitors name and email address BEFORE they are shown (or redirected to) the actual sales message.

Point out benefits – Make sure to highlight the benefits of signing up. You want to make this an offer they cannot refuse. Use picture and bullet points to highlight the benefits. Features tell but benefits sell. Instead of focusing on features, tell the benefit for each and every feature of your product or service.

Target top keywords – Make sure that you use your squeeze pages to target the best keywords you have. If you need to do more keyword research to find out the best keywords then do so before getting your squeeze page ready. Each squeeze page should be optimized for one or two keywords or phrases for maximum effectiveness.

Be honest – Never lie. It is a simple matter of good business. Just keep things honest. Do not say something that isn’t true just to get the subscription. It will come back to haunt you. Dishonest people do go a long way. Their success is temporary and when people realize that they have been duped, they will never come back AND they tell at least a dozen people to stay away.

Have a target market – The biggest mistakes marketers make is to target the entire world or a very broad category. Narrow your audience and target a specific niche. You are more likely to get signups. You may have to do some market research so you can define your target market.

Use video – For even more impact put a video on your page. Video will not only let them get to see you in action, but also is much easier on them then having to read a page of copy. You can show the benefits or a demo of what they are going to get when they subscribe to your form. It is very effective and proven to increase your opt-in rates many times.

Keep it simple – Do not make your page more complex than it has to be. Be upfront and straight forward. Avoid any extravagance and just keep it neat and easy to read. The content should be written typically to a high-school student. Use short sentences and many paragraphs. Bullet points are very effective in highlighting the most important points and enhances the look and feel of your squeeze page.

Make copy the right length – Do not ramble on if you do not need to. Make sure you make it long enough, though. Include the information you need to and forget the fluff. Ideally squeeze pages are just enough to fit into the first fold of the page. In other words, let the entire squeeze page fit into the visible portion of your page when viewed in a browser, without having to use the scroll button.
