How you feel about yourself, your feelings of self-worth, or lack of, colors your thoughts. And your thoughts ultimately drive your actions. It is the actions you take that determine the outcomes in your life. If your life is not going the way you want it to, you should take some time to reflect on your self-esteem levels.

If you really wish to achieve your goals you need to take consistent and massive action. It is true that one of the biggest reasons that most people do not achieve their goals is because they give up on them much too early. If your self-esteem levels are high you are much more likely to be able to summon up the determination and stamina to see your plans through to a fruitful conclusion.

Constant self-criticism can only serve to lower your self-esteem. And it’s a pretty self-evident fact that if you have low self-esteem you will struggle to take the actions necessary to achieve your goals. Positive thoughts will lead to positive actions. Negative thoughts will lead to negative or negligible actions.

So, how can you conquer self-doubt and put real power into your actions? You must learn to think positively. Learn to congratulate yourself on everything you’ve already accomplished in life.

All of us have had some successes. You should make a list of your accomplishments and work out the action steps you took that enabled you to succeed. List the obstacles you had to overcome. Carrying out this task is a great way to build your confidence. Start a journal where you can write down your successes. This will be something you can refer back to when you need to give yourself some positive reinforcement.

One thing you should never forget is that there is a definite connection between your thoughts and actions. Your prime life’s objective from here on in should be to direct your thoughts into positive channels by consciously taking control of them. Whenever you become assailed by doubts, get out your journal for a positivity boost.

Negative thoughts are the greatest dream killer known to man! Telling yourself “I can’t” will lower your self-esteem, reduce the effectiveness of any actions that you take, and prevent you from achieving your goals. Your list of wins is something that can reassure you whenever negative thinking tries to take over your mind.

Make thinking positively a habit. The confidence, optimism and motivation that lead to you taking action on your goals results from positive thoughts. Staying positive definitely gives you the best chance of achieving your goals. Positive thoughts have the seeds of greatness within them, negative thoughts the opposite.
